Yesterday we drove up the Mountain Loop Highway and went on two short hikes - one through an old growth cedar forest and the other to a great, isolated waterfall on the Sauk River, where we sat and enjoyed our lunch. It was such a fun day, even though our poor son came thisclose to DEATH (or so he thought. Why is communing with nature so traumatic for pre-teens??).

What a neat hike. Thanks for sharing! Zoya, your hair is very short. Is that your "summer doo"? I'll bet it's nice and cool. When you are in Montana next week, maybe we can go on a hike...around Lake Como? After the wedding? Bring your swimming suits just in case we want to get into water. See ya soon.
the pictures are so great,i wish i were there,i like to have a hiking like this with cuet kids,so....I hope to see you as soon as.
that looks like it was a ton of fun, and very beautiful. your kids are getting so big i can't believe it.
Looked like a lot of fun. Zoya is a 'pistol' and I am sure she keeps you on your toes! Gosh, it is beautiful there.
