Snow day, AGAIN

I know I shouldn't complain, but I'm beginning to get tired of the snow. We've had a most unusual winter, with snow on the ground 2 or 3 times already. This last storm hit last week with about 4 inches at our house and temperatures in the upper 20's, so it hasn't melted. The kids and I haven't been to school in a week...UGH! Movakel has had to go in to one of the two schools he teaches at because they didn't close campus. The roads are so bad that he didn't want to drive, so he's been riding his bike - what a dedicated teacher!

Anyhoo, it snowed again this morning - these are pictures from our back yard. I took a picture of the fence to show how big the snowflakes are. They were the size of golfballs! We're hopefully going sledding this afternoon, so I'll post pictures of the the babes playing in the snow a little later.

Origin of thickankles

Over the years lots of people have wondered about the origin of my screen name "thickankles," so I thought I'd include my inspiration...Nancy. I really don't have an abnormal obsession with the circumference of my ankles - this is my favorite Hallmark (credit where credit is due) card EVER (you may need to click on it to read it).

Dylan started Tae Kwon Do a few weeks ago and Zoya wasn't about to leave the gym without her own "karate clothes," even though she can't officially start taking classes until she turns 4. She watches her big brother very carefully and then comes home to show us all how it's done.

Technologically challenged, blog under construction...

I've wanted to start a blog for a long time and finally got around to signing up for this one over the Christmas break. Sadly, even though I'm alive and well in the 21st century I'm still a bit computer stupid. As a result, it will take some time before I figure this stuff out (particularly how to post pictures of the kids).
